The quick pita personal pizzas are one that works if you are looking for a dish for just one, or to feed your family. These pizzas are completely customizable based on your favorite toppings. This could also be a great opportunity to get your kids into the kitchen, maybe even an easy option for a sleepover so everyone can pick their own toppings.
Another way to speed up the prep, is we try to always have browned ground beef and sausage in the freezer so it's a easy to grab-and-go when you are looking for a quick weeknight dish.
Pitas (we use whole wheat)
Pizza shredded cheese blend or mozzarella
Pizza seasoning (we love Penzy's spice blend)
Toppings: (pick your favorites to be included)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is preheating, brown your sausage or beef. and chop your ingredients. If you are looking for an easy way to chop the ham I like to use my kitchen shears.
After your ingredients are ready, it's time to build. Take your pita and start by spreading the pizza sauce right on your cookie sheet. Next I add a small amount of the cheese to help hold the toppings on. Sprinkle on your seasoning to infuse the flavor into your sauce. Then add all your toppings. Finally cover the pizza with cheese and bake.
Baking time is dependent on how many pizzas you have on your sheet. For one bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.
Slice up the pizza and serve!
